📚What I Read and Enjoyed
Red Queen is a Spanish thriller that blew my socks away. What’s even more exciting is that a show based on the book will premiere next month on Amazon Prime, so I’m looking forward to seeing the very flawed, very likable Antonia Scott on the screen.
Antonia Scott has a gifted forensic mind, whose ability to reconstruct crimes and solve baffling murders is legendary. But after a personal trauma, she's refused to continue her work.
Jon Gutierrez, a police officer in Bilbao―disgraced, suspended, and about to face criminal charges―is offered a chance to salvage his career by a secretive organization that works in the shadows to direct criminal investigations of a highly sensitive nature. All he has to do is succeed where many others have failed: Convince a recalcitrant Antonia to come out of her self-imposed retirement, protecting her and helping her investigate a new, terrifying case.
The case is a macabre, ritualistic murder―a teen-aged boy from a wealthy family whose body was found without a drop of blood left in it. But the murder is just the start.
📺 What I Watched and Enjoyed
True Detective S4: I loved the first episode. Jodie Foster leads an outstanding cast, and the mystery has a supernatural twist that intrigued me. (Max)
Loudermilk: Found this gem on Netflix, and it reminds me a ton of Shrinking, a show I loved last year. It's a 20-minute show, so I’m putting it on when I need some time to unwind. (Netflix)
🛍️ What I Bought and Enjoyed
My husband gave me these joggers for Christmas, and I’m wearing them almost twice per week. They are so comfy and buttery! Also, I love that you look presentable enough to run errands outside the house in them
💕 Micro-Joy
I’m prioritizing improving my fitness levels this year, and I’ve been consistently running three times per week (complementing with Pilates Reformer 2X and Strength Training 3X) since September. However, I’ve been running based on my vibes for the day; for example, some days I’ll do 2 miles, some 1.5, and rarely 3 to be honest. Since the past week, I’ve adopted a more consistent approach and am now following a free 8-week program from the Nike Run Club that will help me improve my 5K pace. I love it!
