Hahaha Sirens is such a Nicole Kidman show even if she is not in it! You're so spot on. Also I'm a huge fan of this genre based on the fact that I loved every show you listed pretty much.
On the all inclusive resorts: they are deeply uncool but as a millennial I can see the appeal of not having to do anything and often getting a cheaper total price tag on the holiday. I guess it's this time of life when we realize it's ok to be uncool 😅.
I'm an uncool millennial who loves all inclusives, and I don't care. They have childcare, and I get to read and drink as many Diet Cokes as I want. What's wrong with that?
Oh how I've missed Substack and especially your newsletter! So many good links here, and today the one I'm bookmarking is the #1 Restaurant trick for sandwiches!! ALSO - have you finished Sirens? I'm curious to know your thoughts about the ending. 🤨
I'm watching Sirens and your Nicole Kidman show type made me giggle 🤣 You're so right. Oh, and I've had Rivals on my watchlist for moonths because of Aiden, I need to watch it! I read Strange Sally Diamond a couple of years ago, and it was strange indeed, but so good!
Loved the Privacy Consultants piece, had no idea this even existed wow
And I aaaalways turn to detective fiction, so I 100% agree haha
Thank you for the round-up of summer reading lists - one of my favorite hobbies is perusing them and then adding a ton of titles to my TBR (time that could be spent reading; I contain multitudes).
I am so sorry you had strep 😭 and so happy you’re feeling better. Strep is a beast.
Read that Miranda article a couple of weeks ago and wow…she had the gift of gab.
I’ve been wanting to watch Sirens but we got rid of Netflix months ago, might have to get it for a month so I can watch my fav Julianne Moore go bonkers. (And Kevin Bacon! Woo!)
It is a beast. I don't remember feeling this ill! Thank you for the well wishes. The Miranda article was by far the craziest thing I read this week. I'm a sucker for articles like that.
It's so difficult to describe, right? Not quite a thriller nor a mystery, but also not literary fiction! - I almost didn't finish that paragraph because it's hard to explain! But so so good.
Glad you’re feeling better, Sara. I’m watching Sirens now and can’t stop watching. It has me under its spell 😂.
Thanks for sharing my June guide. Isn’t Maddie’s so pretty? She pours so much love into those guides. I need to check out the others you linked as well.
Have you read the books? I feel you would enjoy it as you love romance lit! I've been toying with starting them, but it's a commitment, and there are lots of them.
I’ve heard there’s many of them. I haven’t read them yet, but after watching the series, I added the first book to my TBR and am hoping to pick it up this year at least. I’ll keep an eye out for your review if you do pick it up before me.

Haha yes I agree! I don't have kids but when I do you bet your ass I will want child care during my holidays. The diet cokes are a nice extra :D

I tried the tip yesterday and it delivered! Welcome back to Substack! :) Hope I get to read you soon.

Yoy need to watch Rivals! Aiden is swoonworthy, but Alex Hassel steals the show.
And I hope you're feeling better! (forgot to write that haha)
Thank you!! Antibiotics are lifesavers, back to 100%
Thanks for sharing!
my pleasure

Mine too! and i end up with too many and fully overwhemed
So happy to hear you loved the sober curious handbook! Thank you for sharing. And so glad you're feeling better!
Thank you!! Antibiotics are magic.
Love the sandwich tip!
Right? So easy too. We usually eat sandwiches on Sunday night, and we're trying it!

I loved Rivals (and the SOUNDTRACK!). And I just finished the first episode of Sirens! That cliff-hanger!
The Soundtrack was incredible, I agree with you! I heard there's a second season coming soon!
Oh and I loved Strange Sally Diamond. 👏🏻

I love your weekly guides. I have a very similar reading taste to yours, and it helps me get organized and plan my reading.
Love to hear it!
I absolutely loved Rivals! I binged it one day and it was the soapy goodness I needed.
